420 and counting!!!

That's right!!!  To date, I have adjudicated (and written individual comment sheets) for 420 pianists!!!  After Saturday I will have heard 516 competitors.  If this continues then the estimated number of students I will hear in the month of March will be 2285!!!

After a relaxing day in the hotel I attended a meeting at 2:30 PM for all of the adjudicators at this years competition.  There are 45 judges from all over the world.  You can find their bios here.  In additional to piano judges there are specialists in solo western solo singing, western choral, strings [violin, viola, cello, bass], woodwinds [recorder, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon], brass [trumpet, trombone, horn, tuba], as well as Chinese solo singing, 

Chinese opera, 

and indigenous Chinese instruments including the Guzheng.
